A note about the lighting: New Byzantium (The Overcity, anyway) is built with alchemical masonry infused with æther, to keep it light enough not to collapse onto the Undercity. They like to paint over it to hide its natural glow. Glowing alchemical masonry is fine for decoration here and there, and to light up the inside of, say, a secret changing room, but your discerning aristocrat always prefers candlelight.
